Group Training Classes

Our group training classes provide a structured environment where dogs can learn and thrive alongside their peers. We offer three levels of regular obedience training: Basic Obedience Level 1, Basic Obedience Level 2, and Advanced Obedience. Each course is a 6-week commitment, held once a week with a maximum of four dog/handler combinations per class to ensure individualized attention.

Basic Obedience Level 1

In this foundational course, we focus on engagement with the handler and essential commands such as sit, down, stay, come, wait, leave it, and loose leash walking. We also address common behavioral issues like jumping up on people, pulling, separation anxiety, crate training, and excessive barking.

Basic Obedience Level 2

Building on the skills from Level 1, this course adds more distance, duration, and distraction to the training. We fine-tune commands such as heel, sit-stay and down-stay at a distance, recall from a 20 ft long line, place, stand, and introduce body awareness exercises like navigating cavaletti poles and platform work.

Advanced Obedience

In this advanced course, dogs learn to perform commands from a distance, including sit and down on a 20 ft long line, back up on command, and rear-end awareness for a tighter heel. We also cover advanced skills such as step (sideways) over, stand stay, and proofing the place command from a distance, ensuring dogs can respond reliably in various situations.

Pricing

6-Week Course: $150 for the entire 6-week course.
Class Duration: Each class lasts 1 hour.

Terms and Conditions

Class Structure: Classes are held once a week for 6 weeks on the same day and time as the initial start date.
Class Size: Each class is limited to 4 clients to ensure personalized attention and time with the trainer.
Location: All group training classes are held at my facility.

Leash and Treat Requirements

Leash Requirement: Clients must have their dog on a plain 4 ft or 6 ft leash. Retractable leashes are not allowed.
Training Supplies: Clients are required to bring their dog’s favorite treats or kibble and a toy to be used during training sessions.
Collar or Harness Requirement: Dogs need to be on a flat collar, slip lead, harness, or training collar.

Booking, Cancellation, and Rescheduling

Booking: Classes must be booked in advance.
Cancellation: Cancellations must be made at least 24 hours prior to the scheduled class to avoid a cancellation fee equivalent to the class rate.
Rescheduling: Clients who need to skip a class can choose to make up that class. Make-up sessions are limited to one per course.
Instructor Rescheduling: If the weather is bad or if something comes up on my end, I will notify all participating clients as soon as possible, and the class will be rescheduled to the following week.

Safety and Conduct

Behavior: Dogs displaying aggressive behavior towards humans or other dogs may be asked to leave the class for safety reasons. In such cases, a prorated refund for the remaining classes will be provided.
Safe Distance: Dogs are not allowed to meet on leash, and owners should keep a safe distance away from each other’s dogs to prevent interactions. This policy ensures everyone's safety and helps avoid potential dog fights.
Health Requirements: Dogs must be up-to-date on deworming, and vaccinations. Owners must provide proof of these prior to our first scheduled class.
