Trick Dog Training

Our Trick Dog Training Classes at Wolf Song Acres K9 Academy are designed to enhance your dog's skills and provide them with official Trick Dog Titles through "AKC Trick Dog" (for AKC registered dogs) and/or "Do More With Your Dog". These classes are structured as 6-week group sessions, with a maximum of four dog-handler pairs per class, ensuring personalized attention and a supportive learning environment. At the end of the course, we will film your dog's tricks to submit for their official Trick Dog Title!

Novice Trick Dog Title

In the first 6-week course, we focus on teaching your dog 15 novice tricks such as paws up, spin, bar jump, and more. At the end of the course, we will film your dog's tricks to submit for their official Novice Trick Dog Title.

PRE-REQUISITES: WSA K9's Basic Obedience Level 1 Group Class

Intermediate Trick Dog Title

Building on the novice level, the second 6-week course introduces more complex tricks that require higher levels of skill and focus. Your dog will learn 12 new tricks like weaving through legs, roll over, and sit pretty. We will also create a video of these tricks to submit for their Intermediate Trick Dog Title.

PRE-REQUISITES: AKC Novice Trick Dog (TKN) or DMWYD Novice Trick Dog (NTD)

Advanced & Expert Trick Dog Titles

The third 6-week course takes trick training to the next level with 5 new advanced tricks and 5 new expert tricks that challenge your dog's coordination and creativity. Tricks may include bow, orbit, balancing on objects, and more intricate sequences. At the end of this course, we will film your dog's performance to submit for their Advanced Trick Dog and Expert Trick Dog Titles!

PRE-REQUISITES: AKC Intermediate Trick Dog (TKI) or DMWYD Intermediate Trick Dog (ITD)

Trick Dog Title Rules

Prerequisite: Dogs entering the Trick Dog Training Class must have completed our Basic Obedience Level 1 Group Class or undergo a consultation to ensure they are ready to join the titling class.
Course Fee: The fee for each 6-week Trick Dog Training Class is $150, payable at the time of enrollment.
Class Schedule: Classes are held once a week for one hour, on the same day and time, for the duration of the 6-week course.
Trick Requirements: Clients must select the required number of tricks for the respective Trick Dog Title (for AKC: TKN, TKI, TKA or for DMWYD: NTD, ITD, or ATD) their dog is aiming to achieve.
Video Submission: At the end of each course, a video will be taken of the dog's tricks. It is the client's responsibility to submit this video to the Do More With Your Dog website. If you are doing the Trick Dog Titling through AKC, there is no need to submit a video as WSA K9 is an approved evaluator for AKC Trick Titles. The owner is simply required to fill out the Title Application through the Title Application Portal on the AKC Trick Dog website.
Titling Fees: To apply for an AKC Trick Dog title, owners must complete an application and send to the AKC with a $30 processing fee for each title submitted. All dogs must have an AKC, PAL, or Canine Partners number. The submission for the Trick Dog Title requires a $25 fee, and an additional $10 fee for certification by a certified trainer from Do More With Your Dog. These fees are separate from the course fee and are paid by the client directly to the AKC or Do More With Your Dog.
